Lindsay Saker VW Vereeniging, in partnership with Motus Technical Training Academy (MTTA), is offering an exciting opportunity for motivated individuals to join its Competency Based Modular Training (CBMT) Apprenticeship Programme.
This apprenticeship combines on-the-job training (OJT) with classroom-based education under the guidance of qualified Motor Vehicle Technicians. Successful candidates will gain practical experience, theoretical knowledge, and structured mentorship towards becoming a qualified Motor Mechanic.
Position Overview

Contract Type: CBMT contract with merSETA & Learnership contract with Lindsay Saker VW Vereeniging

Duration: 4 years (Levels 1–4)

Stipend: MIBCO minimum wages apply for apprentices
Training Programme
-
Structured learning: 4-year contract covering Levels 1–4
-
Classroom education: 5 days every 5 weeks at MTTA
-
Distance learning via CDX: Interactive online modules, tutorials, quizzes, and exercises accessible at work or home
-
Assessment: Computer-based testing, examinations, and practical competency testing
-
On-the-job training: Hands-on workshop experience at Lindsay Saker VW Vereeniging Service Department

Portfolio of Evidence (POE): Apprentices will gather evidence and complete assessments as required by ITTA

Workshop exposure:

Assist qualified technicians in servicing, maintenance, and repairs
-
Inspect, maintain, and repair vehicles to manufacturer standards

Build practical skills while working alongside experienced professionals

Minimum Qualifications & Requirements For The VW Vereeniging Apprenticeship Programme 2025
Applicants must meet the following:

Matric/Grade 12 with:

Mathematics

Physical Science

OR N2 Certificate with:

Engineering Science

English (minimum 50%)

Valid Driver’s License

Additional requirements:

Pass a mechanical insight test
