We are looking for a hardworking and enthusiastic Warehouse Operator – Screening Media to join our team.  The role will report to the Operations Manager in the Screening Media division based in Crown Mines, Johannesburg.

Purpose of the role:

• Responsible for receiving all goods and ensuring timely issuing of raw materials to Screening Media Production. The role includes stock control, picking and packaging, and co -ordinating dispatch operations to meet Main Store requirements.

The job responsibilities:

• Goods receiving
  • Receiving of raw material and non -stock items by verifying the physical quantity against the
  delivery note and sign off once verified
  • Ensure that all incoming raw material s (grids, steel plates, pins etc) are clearly marked /labelled
  with a stock code number to allow for easy identification
  • Report any damaged or short supplied goods to the Screening media Scheduler for resolution
  • GRV invoices /delivery notes onto Syspro on a daily basis
  • Handover all delivery notes/invoices/waybills to Finance on a daily basis

• Inventory Management
  • Packing of raw material neatly into the designated shelves/bins/storage area
  • Ensure that all raw material movements (issuing and receiving) are recorded on the bin cards
  to allow for traceability
  • Assist in Stock Take preparation
  • Perform cycle counts as and when required
  • Investigate and report any stock take variances to the Screening Media Scheduler for
  rectification
  • Maintain e effective housekeeping and cleanliness practices at all time

• Picking and Packaging
  • Picking the correct items as per job card provided
  • Pack aging and strapping of finished goods onto pallets that allows for safe material handling
  • Verify and sign off quantities picked and packed as per the job card

• Goods Dispatching
  • Ensure that all packaged goods are clearly marked/labelled with a quantity and a stock code
  • Ensure that the packaged goods are weighed and the weight is handwritten onto the package
  • Investigate and resolve any queries/ short supplies/discrepancies with Main Stores personnel

EHS Responsibilities:

• Responsible to operate within the health and safety requirements as prescribed by the
• Company and OHS Act
• • Ensure that working area is clean and neat and free from any hazards
• • Ensure that all hazardous chemicals are stored safely in the flammable goods stores
• • Follow safety and PPE protocols at all times

Profile Required

• Grade 12 (Matric)
• Diploma in Warehousing / Logistics / Supply Chain
• Work experience in a Warehousing environment for at least 3 years or similar role
• Computer literacy – MS Office
• Basic understanding of screening media products
• The ability to make sound decisions related to identified problems without assistance
• Excellent time management and adhering to strict deadlines
• Proficiency in Syspro will be an advantage
