Key Responsibilities:

• Adhere to 100% safety compliance and promote a zero-harm culture.

• Gain practical skills in plant operations, machinery, and maintenance.

• Read and interpret engineering drawings; translate them into machining operations.

• Operate manual machines including lathes, milling machines, and drilling machines.

• Perform turning, facing, threading, boring, and tapering operations on metals and alloys.

• Build technical competence in mechanical fitting, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

• Complete the apprenticeship programme according to company and SETA standards.

Education and Qualifications For Applicants are invited to apply for the Weir 2026 Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship

• Grade 12 (Matric) with Mathematics and Physical Science.

• N2 or higher in Mechanical Engineering (Fitting & Turning).

• Higher qualifications (N5/N6) are an advantage.
