Ikwezi Mining (Pty) Ltd is offering an exciting Work Experience Programme at our Newcastle operations. This opportunity is designed for students who require practical workplace exposure (P1/P2 or in-service training) to complete their qualifications.

We are inviting applications from students in the following fields:

• Diesel Mechanics

• Electrical Engineering

• Mechanical Fitting

• Boilermaking

This structured programme provides hands-on mining industry experience, mentorship, and the chance to develop essential technical and workplace skills to prepare you for a successful career in engineering and mining.

 Key Responsibilities For The Work Experience Programme P1/P2 or N6

• Assist qualified artisans with daily maintenance and repair tasks

• Participate in preventative and corrective maintenance activities

• Perform routine inspections and report on equipment performance

• Learn and apply health, safety, and environmental standards

• Support mechanical or electrical installations, fabrication, and diagnostics

• Maintain trade-specific tools and equipment

 Minimum Requirements

• N6 Certificate or completed S4/National Diploma in the relevant field

• Must require P1/P2 or in-service training to complete qualification

• Strong technical aptitude and eagerness to learn

• Good communication and teamwork skills

• Ability to follow instructions and adapt in a mining environment

• Passion for engineering and mining careers
