Full Job Description – Machinist / Engineering Learnership Opportunity
Key Responsibilities (Key Outputs):

Successfully complete all theoretical learning, practical training, and skills assessments

Apply all technical skills and knowledge gained during training directly in the workplace environment
-
Maintain accurate documentation such as logbooks and training records for experience tracking
-
Ensure a safe and compliant working environment in accordance with safety policies and procedures
-
Meet targets as per individual balanced scorecard and KPIs
-
Demonstrate strong self-management, accountability, and ownership of performance
-
Provide accurate and timely reporting on completed tasks and related administration
-
Contribute to productivity, cost efficiency, and adherence to project timelines
-
Assist with Safety, Risk Management, Contamination control, and Quality assurance
-
Support senior machinists with projects and daily operational activities
-
Perform basic machining operations, including:
-
Turning
-
Milling
-
Drilling
-
Tapping
-
-
Adhere to the General Machinery Regulations Act
Minimum Qualifications For X1 Automotive Machinist Apprentice
-
Grade 12 / Matric with N3 Mathematics and Physical Science OR FLT (Foundational Learning Certificate)
-
N2 or higher with Mathematics, Physical Science, Mechanical Trade Theory, and Technical Drawings
-
OR NCV Level 4 with Mathematics, Physical Science, Industrial Science, Mechanical/Electrical Trade Theory, and Technical Drawings
-
Valid Driver’s License – Code B (must be obtained before trade test)

Basic analytical and problem-solving ability
-
Basic technical / mechanical reasoning
-
Strong numerical reasoning ability
-
Spatial visualization skills
