Applicants are invited to apply for the X10 Rand Water Learnership Programme

Rand Water invites suitably qualified and previously disadvantaged South African applicants to apply for a Procurement Officer Learnership. This programme provides the learner with practical skills, workplace-based experience, and knowledge to operate as a Procurement Officer.

The role involves coordinating the procurement and supply of goods and services, managing supplier contracts and negotiations, and monitoring the implementation of procurement schedules.

Minimum Requirements For X10 Rand Water Learnership Programme 

• Unemployed applicants only.

• Not enrolled in any institution or Learnership Programme.

• Must not have completed a post-matric qualification.

• Matric (Grade 12) with Mathematics Literacy and English (min Level 4).

• SAQA / NLRD verification report must be attached.

• South African citizen with a valid ID.

• Aged 18–35 (NSDSIII compliance).

• For PWDS:

  • Deaf or hard-of-hearing applicants must provide their own interpreters.

  • Proof of disability required (Doctor’s Certificate/report or ITRDD13).

Primary Duties

• Develop and maintain operational procurement schedules.

• Manage supplier relationships and contracts.

• Monitor and measure procurement performance.

During Learnership Programme:

• Attend classes and participate in discussions.

• Complete assignments, projects, and assessments.

• Maintain a practical logbook.

Knowledge / Skills / Attitude

• Knowledge: Rand Water mandate and contribution to the water sector.

• Skills: Communication (verbal and written).

• Attitude: Self-motivated, results-driven.
