 Position Overview

Are you passionate about engineering and seeking an opportunity to kick-start your career in a practical and supportive environment? We are inviting applications for an Apprenticeship Programme in the Engineering field (Diesel Mechanic, Mechanical or Motor Trade). This opportunity is ideal for young, motivated individuals looking to gain hands-on technical skills and receive formal artisanal training under the supervision of skilled professionals.

As part of this apprenticeship, you will learn to perform essential mechanical and maintenance tasks while developing critical problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities. You’ll gain exposure to the inner workings of an engineering facility, ensuring your readiness for long-term career success in the industry.


Minimum Requirements For The X4 Apprentices – Heavy Equipment Mechanics

To qualify, you must meet one of the following academic criteria:

Educational Criteria:

  • Grade 12 with the following subjects:

    • Mathematics (Core)

    • Physical Science

    • Engineering Graphics & Design (EGD)

    • Mechanical Technology
      OR

  • N2 Certificate with:

    • Mathematics

    • Engineering Science

    • Diesel or Motor Trade Theory

    • Engineering Drawing / Industrial Electronics
      OR

  • NCV Level 4 (Engineering Related Design – Automotive) with seven relevant subjects


 Additional Requirements

  • Must pass a technical assessment (including numeracy & literacy components)

  • Physically fit to perform demanding tasks; a medical exam will be required

  • Must possess a valid Code EB (08) driver’s licence

  • Must reside within a 50km radius of the Bell Customer Service Centre


 Preferred but Not Mandatory:

  • Previous experience in the engineering or mechanical industry

  • Completion of basic hand skills training

  • Holding a valid passport
