Rand Water is seeking a qualified Electrical Assistant to support the Electrical Section in maintaining, repairing, and installing electrical equipment across its 14 Bulk Water Distribution Districts. This role includes assisting with breakdowns, preventative maintenance, and minor repairs in a high-performance utilities environment.

 Minimum Requirements For The X7 Rand Water Artisan Assistant

• Grade 12 (Matric) or N3 Certificate

• N1 Electrical qualification

• Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience in an electrical or maintenance environment

• Valid Driver’s License and ability to pass Rand Water’s K-53 driving evaluation

• Basic understanding of electrical safety protocols

 Key Responsibilities

• Assist with planned maintenance and repairs of electrical equipment

• Perform routine inspections and services on electrical plant systems

• Support in electrical installations under supervision

• Execute minor electrical repairs on appliances and components

• Maintain cleanliness and safety in switchgear rooms, substations, and workshop areas

• Use tools appropriately and follow technical instructions

 Knowledge & Skills Required

 Electrical Knowledge

• Basic understanding of electrical principles and wiring

• Proficient in using electrical hand tools

• Awareness of workplace safety regulations

 Skills

• Strong communication skills (verbal and written)

• Effective problem-solving and logical thinking abilities

• Good interpersonal and teamwork skills
