 Main Purpose of the Job

To provide technical support in the manufacturing environment by diagnosing faults, performing electrical and mechanical maintenance, and ensuring all machinery and systems operate efficiently. You will be responsible for ensuring maximum machine availability to meet production targets, while maintaining safety and quality standards.

 Key Responsibilities

• Perform breakdown and planned maintenance on electrical, mechanical, and automated machinery and equipment

• Troubleshoot and resolve technical faults timeously to minimize downtime and prevent production losses

• Ensure that all electrical work complies with SANS code, health and safety legislation, and site procedures

• Oversee and inspect contractor work and ensure compliance with site safety and quality standards

• Support production personnel to reduce product defects and support consistent product quality

• Participate in Machine Daily Work (MDW) teams and continuous improvement initiatives

• Ensure all stakeholders are informed with clear and timely communication to support decision-making

• Maintain and interpret electrical schematics, diagrams, and layouts for fault finding and installations

 Minimum Requirements

• Recognised Trade Test Certificate (Electrical/Mechanical)

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment

• Strong understanding of PLC systems, VSDs, and robotics

• Experience working with electrical distribution and control systems

• Able to read and interpret electrical drawings and technical manuals

• Familiar with OSHACT, shutdown maintenance practices, and factory utilities
