Introduction:

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Maintenance Electrician to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring that the plant meets its quality, cost, and delivery targets by ensuring all electrical installations and equipment are operating efficiently and safely. This position is critical in driving productivity and minimizing downtime through preventative and responsive maintenance practices.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Execute electrical maintenance and installation tasks on plant equipment in accordance with company specifications and safety standards

• Conduct fault-finding, troubleshooting, and basic PLC programming (Allen Bradley and related systems)

• Be actively involved in plant problem-solving initiatives, contributing to root cause analysis and long-term solutions

• Complete job cards and scheduled planned maintenance activities accurately and on time

• Apply effective use of the maintenance administration system for tracking repairs, inspections, and updates

• Participate in continuous improvement efforts to enhance equipment reliability and plant efficiency

• Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering strictly to company health, safety, and environmental policies

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

• Grade 12 / Matric certificate

• Recognized Electrician Trade Certificate

• Valid experience working with 11 KV and Medium Voltage (up to 3000V) systems

• Proficient in relay logic, PLCs (Allen Bradley), and VSD (Variable Speed Drives)

• Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and electrical schematics

• Computer literate with knowledge of maintenance software systems

• Previous experience in a Foundry plant environment will be a significant advantage

• Must be willing to work shifts, standby duties, and overtime as needed

• Ability to read, write, and communicate fluently in English
