Key Responsibilities for the Maintenance Technician – Elevators & Escalators

  • Customer Satisfaction & Service Excellence:
    Ensure customer satisfaction through the delivery of high-quality maintenance services and proactive communication with customers. Regularly engage with clients to provide precise updates on service progress and equipment performance.

  • On-Site Service Management:
    Maintain strong relationships with customers, contact persons, and end-users. Oversee site operations during service, ensuring safety and effective maintenance.

  • Risk Identification & Reporting:
    Identify and report any site risks or unplanned service repairs, ensuring timely and clear communication of such occurrences to the on-site contact person. Address equipment needs promptly, even when repairs are not covered under the current contract.

  • Inventory Management:
    Manage PAR stock levels, including shelving, inventory tracking, and timely orders for stock replenishment to ensure service continuity.

  • Accurate Reporting:
    Provide real-time back reporting of work performed, ensuring accurate documentation of completed tasks and timesheets.

Qualifications and Skills:

KONE is seeking candidates with one or more of the following qualifications:

  • Red Seal Trade Test Certificate in Lift Mechanic.

  • NQF Level 4 Certification with successful completion of an apprenticeship program (minimum 4 years).

  • Diploma/Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, with at least 12 months shadowing a competent lift mechanic.

  • NQF Level 5 Certification, with at least 12 months shadowing a competent lift mechanic.

  • Basic IT skills for efficient reporting and communication.
