An exciting opportunity exists for a Qualified Electrician to join a leading FMCG manufacturing company based in Cape Town. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and production equipment, ensuring maximum uptime and efficiency in a fast-paced, high-output production environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and electrical fault-finding on production lines, packaging equipment, and other electrical systems.

Install and commission electrical wiring, control systems, and equipment in accordance with SANS and safety regulations.

Diagnose and resolve breakdowns to minimize downtime and support uninterrupted production.

Conduct preventative maintenance inspections to identify wear and prevent future failures.

Collaborate with the broader maintenance and engineering teams during planned shutdowns, system upgrades, and improvement projects.

Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.

Maintain comprehensive records of all repairs, inspections, and servicing in line with audit and compliance standards.

Provide technical support to production teams and advise on electrical best practices.

Adhere to occupational health and safety (OHS) guidelines at all times.
Minimum Requirements:

Qualified Electrician with a recognized Trade Test Certificate (Red Seal)

3–5 years’ experience working in an FMCG, manufacturing, or industrial environment

Hands-on experience with PLCs, VSDs, industrial automation, and motor control systems

Ability to work under pressure in a time-sensitive production environment

Proficient in fault diagnosis, panel wiring, and process instrumentation

Strong communication and teamwork skills

Ability to work shifts and overtime when required
