We are seeking a qualified and experienced electrician to join our team and provide electrical maintenance, repair, and replacement services for all electrical systems, infrastructure, and equipment within the locality. Key Responsibilities for the Mediclinic Artisan Electrician Job Opportunity
1. Electrical Maintenance & Repair Services
Perform technical jobs related to electrical systems, installations, and infrastructure maintenance within the locality.
Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical faults, ensuring quick and efficient repairs to minimize downtime.
Maintain and repair alarm panels, IT networks, communication systems, and heating/air conditioning systems as required.
Ensure compliance with electrical regulations, safety codes, and the Occupational Health and Safety Act during all operations.
2. Administrative & Documentation Tasks
Maintain detailed records of electrical work, including maintenance logs, inspection reports, and repair documentation.
Ensure all completed jobs adhere to company policies, safety guidelines, and legal compliance requirements.
Prepare and submit reports on maintenance schedules, safety inspections, and required system upgrades.
3. Risk Identification & Mitigation
Identify potential electrical risks and hazards in the work environment.
Implement preventive measures to ensure electrical safety and operational efficiency.
Regularly inspect transformers, circuit breakers, autoclaves, and other critical equipment.
4. Coordination of On-Site Contractors
Supervise and coordinate external contractors performing electrical work on-site.
Ensure that all work carried out by contractors meets quality standards, compliance regulations, and safety protocols.
Provide technical support and guidance to team members and contractors.
5. Client & Stakeholder Relations
Maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders within the technical function.
Respond to electrical concerns and requests in a timely and professional manner.
Offer expert recommendations on electrical system improvements and energy efficiency solutions.
Minimum Educational Requirements
Essential:
Qualified Electrician with N4 (Red Seal Certification) and Wireman’s License OR
Qualified Electrician with N6 and Trade Test (Red Seal Certification)
Desired:
Wireman’s License (if not already obtained)
Required Experience
Essential:
Minimum 5 years of post-qualification experience in electrical maintenance and repair.
Desired:
3 years of experience in a hospital or healthcare environment, with knowledge of medical-grade electrical systems.
Essential Skills & Knowledge
Strong understanding of electrical regulations, fault-finding techniques, and repair procedures.
Experience with alarm panels, IT networks, communication systems, and HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) systems.
Knowledge of transformers, circuit breakers, autoclaves, and testing equipment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software for reporting and documentation.
Understanding of Occupational Health and Safety Act to ensure compliance in the workplace.
