Main Purpose of the Job
To ensure that all equipment, plant, building infrastructure, and technical services are fully operational, well-maintained, and restored to their original, safe, and cost-effective condition at all times.
Key Responsibilities

Perform technical repairs and maintenance tasks within your locality according to Mediclinic standards

Carry out all administrative duties related to technical maintenance and compliance

Identify and mitigate technical risks that could impact service delivery or safety
-
Supervise and coordinate work conducted by on-site contractors to ensure compliance and efficiency
-
Maintain positive stakeholder relationships with internal teams and external service providers within the technical function
Minimum Requirements For The Mediclinic Artisan – Fitter & Turner
Education & Certifications
-
Essential Education: Trade Test Certified in a relevant discipline (Fitter, Turner, Millwright, or Air-Conditioning Artisan)

Essential Certifications: Valid Trade Test Certificate and Driver’s Licence

Desired Certification: SAQCC-Gas Registration (for air-conditioning artisans only)
Experience
-
Essential: Minimum of 5 years of post-trade experience in a relevant artisan role

Experience in healthcare, facilities maintenance, or large-scale infrastructure environments is advantageous
Key Skills and Knowledge
-
Proven trade-specific technical skills (mechanical, electrical, HVAC, etc.)

Sound understanding of fault finding, diagnostics, and troubleshooting techniques

Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) and ISO standards

Ability to execute planned preventative maintenance per Mediclinic protocols
-
Computer literacy, especially in Microsoft Office Suite

Experience in mentoring and guiding junior technical team members
-
Familiarity with technical legislation, compliance requirements, and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
