Key Performance Areas

1. Targeted Stakeholder Participation (Aligned with Skills Development Act Objectives)

  • Manage and meet stakeholder participation targets as defined by the Skills Development (SD) Act.

  • Provide expert guidance on the development of apprenticeship programmes and skills development priorities.

  • Contribute to the evaluation and approval process for Discretionary Grant applications submitted by stakeholders, ensuring adherence to deadlines.

2. Monitoring and Compliance

  • Conduct regular monitoring visits to employers and training providers involved in workplace training across the industry.

  • Ensure that training delivery is effective, efficient, and in compliance with relevant regulations and standards.


Minimum Requirements For The Monitor Apprentices At TETA

1. Experience and Qualifications

  • Qualified Artisan with at least 5 years of trade experience in a technical or maintenance discipline.

  • Relevant OD ETDP or equivalent qualification/Statement of Results (SOR), such as:

    • Assessor Certificate (3 years’ experience)

    • Moderator Certificate (3 years’ experience)

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an apprenticeship training environment, particularly within a training centre/institution/college setting.

  • Experience in the aerospace or rail industry trades will be an added advantage.

  • Valid driver’s license and own reliable transport.

  • Willingness to travel and work overtime when required.

2. Knowledge and Skills

  • In-depth understanding of the apprenticeship ecosystem, including processes, procedures, and administrative requirements.

  • Sound knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations such as:

    • Skills Development Act

    • Skills Development Levies Act

  • Strong stakeholder engagement, reporting, and compliance monitoring abilities.
