The Mining Qualifications Authority (MQA) is excited to offer a valuable Internship Opportunity within its Supply Chain Unit. This opportunity is aimed at unemployed South African citizens who have not previously participated in any internship program. The selected candidate will be appointed for a period of twenty-four (24) months, gaining essential work experience in the field of Supply Chain Management and related functions.

Stipend:R9, 306.18 pm

Key Responsibilities for the MQA 2025 Internship Program

As an Intern at the MQA, you will be responsible for supporting a variety of Supply Chain Management (SCM)functions. Your duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Contract Management: Assist with managing contracts and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.

  • Ensuring Compliance: Ensure that all processes comply with key regulations, such as the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), Public Procurement and Public Finance Management Act (PPPFA), Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (BBBEE), Corporate Governance, and the Supply Chain Management (SCM) framework.

  • Tender Evaluation: Participate in evaluating tenders, ensuring that procurement processes are transparent and comply with all necessary standards.

  • Purchase Orders Management: Assist with processing purchase orders, ensuring all steps are followed for a seamless order-to-delivery cycle. You will track the progress of orders to ensure timely and accurate delivery.

  • Document Management: Keep detailed records of contracts, invoices, purchase orders, and other relevant documents. Support the document management process to ensure all paperwork is kept up to date and stored in accordance with ISO Standards.

  • Supply Chain Support: Provide administrative support in resolving any supply chain-related issues that impact both external and internal stakeholders.

  • General Administrative Support: Assist with day-to-day administrative tasks and provide support to the SCM team.

Eligibility Requirements:

To be considered for this internship opportunity, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • South African Citizen: This internship is only available to South African citizens.

  • Educational Qualification: A Grade 12 (Matric) certificate is a minimum requirement. In addition, candidates should possess a National Diploma or Degree in one of the following fields:

    • Supply Chain Management

    • Public Management

    • Public Administration

    • Logistics

    • Purchasing Management

    • Or Equivalent Qualification
