Job Summary

As you are invited to apply for the Nestle Technical Assistant Job Opportunity a Technical Assistant, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of production equipment, providing engineering support to the Plant Engineer/Plant Manager, and assisting with capex projects, maintenance planning, and continuous improvement initiatives. Your role will be critical in optimizing plant performance by monitoring, analyzing, and improving line efficiencies while ensuring compliance with Nestlé safety and quality standards.

 

Key Responsibilities for the Nestle Technical Assistant Job Opportunity

Staff Management

Manage attendance profiles of subordinates, handling both planned and unplanned absences to ensure continuous engineering support.

Ensure employees are adequately trained to perform their duties and provide backup support when needed.

Keep staff informed about job requirements, production planning, company updates, and factory communications.

Enforce Occupational Health and Safety Regulations and maintain Nestlé’s safety standards.

Oversee performance management and ensure accountability within the team.

Operational Efficiency

Conduct regular inspections, monitoring, and analysis of MSA results and line efficiencies (SAM reporting) to improve plant performance.

Identify opportunities for energy savings and effluent control to enhance sustainability.

Maintain and oversee departmental workshops, ensuring proper housekeeping and compliance with operational standards.

Maintenance & Improvement

Take full engineering responsibility for assigned production departments during all operational periods.

Ensure uninterrupted production by overseeing plant services and preventive maintenance.

Identify essential maintenance tasks that cannot be performed in-house and source appropriate service providers.

Participate in hygiene and safety audits/meetings, ensuring compliance with findings and recommendations.

Actively engage in CDM-CI teams and SGAs to drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Implement and manage the CDM process, including:

Identifying and maintaining spare parts inventory.

Scheduling preventative maintenance.

Creating and managing maintenance checklists.

Participate in daily production review meetings and weekly production scheduling discussions to align maintenance activities with production goals.

Support multi-disciplinary engineering efforts to ensure maximum equipment availability and efficiency.

Prepare and submit proposals and cost estimates for Extraordinary Maintenance and Capex budgets.

Manage and control the Maintenance Budget for the assigned Cost Centre.

Product Development & Plant Improvement

Evaluate and recommend plant and building improvements to enhance efficiency and safety.

Assist in new product manufacturing investigations in collaboration with the Applications Group.

Support the installation, commissioning, and training of new equipment alongside the Project Engineering Team.

Building Maintenance

Ensure all factory buildings are maintained in clean and operational condition.

Conduct regular inspections, identify structural defects, and take appropriate action.

Apply hygienic engineering principles where necessary to uphold Nestlé’s quality standards.

Required Qualifications & Experience

Diploma or Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.

3-5 years of experience in a relevant field.

Proficiency in MS Office and engineering software.

Ability to work independently and under pressure while maintaining a team-oriented approach.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Working knowledge of AMM, Kronos, and SAP is advantageous.
