Programme Overview

New Concept Mining (Pty) Ltd is offering a valuable opportunity for individuals to join our Millwright Apprenticeship Programme. This programme is designed to equip you with the practical skills and theoretical knowledge required to become a qualified Millwright Artisan.

As an apprentice, you will work within the Maintenance Department, participate in structured training, and support maintenance operations while ensuring safety and high-quality standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in the Millwright apprenticeship training programme

  • Undergo practical and theoretical training to become a qualified artisan

  • Perform routine and assigned tasks in the Maintenance Department

  • Maintain a high standard of work quality and safety at all times

  • Participate in shift work and overtime, as required

  • Assist with duties in other departments as needed

  • Adhere to all company Health, Safety, and Housekeeping standards


Minimum Requirements

Educational Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent with:

    • Two languages (one must be English)

    • Pure Mathematics or Technical Mathematics

    • Physical Science

    • Additional technical subjects such as Engineering Graphics & Design (advantageous)

  • Technical Minimum: N2 Certificate, including:

    • Fitting and Electrical Theory

    • Electronics (advantageous)

Alternatively:

  • NCV Level Qualification with relevant Fitting and Electrical Theory subjects

Experience:

  • Exposure to or experience in a manufacturing or production environment is an advantage


Preferred Candidate Profile

  • Strong communication skills

  • Good problem-solving ability

  • A self-starter who is also a collaborative team player

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision

  • Demonstrated initiative and a passion for technical work
