Job Summary

This role involves assisting artisans in equipment maintenance, conducting pre-start inspections, and maintaining excellent housekeeping in both the plant and workshop areas. Minimum Requirements

 

Grade 12/Matric

 

N2 with Mechanical Trade Theory (advantageous)

 

Strong aptitude for Mathematics and Computer Technology (advantageous)

 

Valid Code 08 driver’s license

 

3 years of experience in an Engineering environment (Mechanical experience preferred)

 

Excellent communication skills at all levels

 

Strong motivational and interpersonal skills

 

Ability to work independently

 

Willingness to work overtime as required

 

Key Responsibilities for PPC Artisan Assistant Job Opportunity

 

Support artisans in performing pre-start and running inspections on plant equipment

 

Maintain good housekeeping standards in both the plant and workshop

 

Assist in the maintenance and repair of plant equipment

 

Ensure tools are properly cleaned, maintained, and stored after use

 

Assist in inspecting and testing safety and equipment protection systems at set intervals

 

Identify defective components and assist in their repair or replacement

 

Support artisans in maintaining safety and equipment protection systems as per required standards

 

Assist with the installation, maintenance, and repair of plant equipment in compliance with engineering standards and relevant legislation

 

Provide feedback to relevant stakeholders, including artisans and engineering personnel

 

Conduct Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA) for all tasks

 

Uphold strict safety, health, and environmental (SHE) protocols

 

Complete all assigned job cards efficiently

 

Ensure compliance with all safety, health, and environmental regulations

 

Demonstrate competency in workshop tools and equipment maintenance

 

Perform effective and timely repairs to minimize downtime

 

Conduct all required inspections thoroughly and report findings
