Are you a driven individual with a passion for mechanical systems and an interest in the food production industry? This three-year Milling Apprenticeship Programme provides an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience while completing theoretical training through SAGMA (South African Grain Milling Academy). You’ll work in a dynamic milling environment where your curiosity, technical aptitude, and problem-solving skills will be nurtured as you develop into a qualified miller.
What You Will Be Doing:

Complete theoretical coursework through SAGMA while simultaneously applying your learning through practical, on-the-job experience in a milling production facility.

Rotate through various departments within the milling supply chain to gain a full understanding of processes from raw grain intake to final product distribution.

Perform core tasks in each department as aligned with your current training module, under the mentorship of the Head Miller or Production Manager.

Develop the skills required to operate milling equipment at full capacity, ensuring optimal extraction rates, efficiency, and compliance with food safety standards.

Assist in identifying opportunities for process improvements and participate in initiatives aimed at increasing operational efficiency.

Qualification Requirements For The Premier 2025 Apprentice Program

Grade 12 (obtained within the last 24 months).

Mathematics: 60% or higher OR Maths Literacy: 80% or higher.

Must have University Exemption (endorsement for higher education).

Successful completion of each SAGMA module as per prescribed standards.

This is a full-time programme that includes working shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
