Minimum Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: Minimum Grade 12 / Matric (Compulsory).
• Technical Qualification: N2 certification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (Advantageous).
• Experience: At least 6 months of relevant experience in maintenance, mechanical repairs, or engineering support.
• Work Environment: Must be comfortable working in extreme cold storage conditions (-40°C).
• Availability: Willingness to work shifts, overtime, and respond to urgent maintenance requests.

Key Responsibilities & Duties for the Rainbow Artisan Assistant Vacancy

1. Engineering & Project Support

• Assist engineering teams in the maintenance and repair of industrial machinery.
• Work closely with artisans in assembling, overhauling, and servicing equipment.
• Conduct daily inspections on production lines and report operational issues.

2. Mechanical Maintenance & Troubleshooting

• Respond to machinery breakdowns and ensure timely repairs.
• Perform preventative maintenance to reduce downtime and improve efficiency.
• Repair and service factory lighting, freezer units, and production equipment.

3. Cold Storage & Freezer Maintenance

• Specialized maintenance of Carton Freezers and Gyros systems.
• Ensure freezer machinery operates efficiently in extreme temperatures.
• Troubleshoot and repair refrigeration units to maintain consistent cooling performance.

4. Safety, Compliance & Operational Efficiency

• Follow strict health and safety protocols in all maintenance activities.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and workplace safety regulations.
• Perform ad hoc technical support tasks as required by management.

• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and factory equipment.
• Ability to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial machinery.
