Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Qualified Electrician to join our dynamic technical team. This role is ideal for an individual with strong experience in industrial electrical systems, instrumentation, and mechanical fault-finding. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the operational efficiency, safety, and reliability of all electrical equipment and infrastructure in a high-performance industrial environment.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 / Matric Certificate

• Red Seal Electrician Trade Certificate (Section 13)

• Valid Code 08 Driver’s License

• Certification and/or hands-on experience in 11KV switching

• Must be eligible to issue COC (Certificate of Compliance)

• Minimum 10 years’ post-trade experience in electrical, fitting, and instrumentation in an industrial/technical environment

Key Responsibilities For The Ram Couriers Maintenance Electrician

• Install, test, maintain, and repair electrical systems, machinery, and equipment

• Diagnose and troubleshoot VSDs, soft starters, and star-delta starters

• Read and interpret complex electrical schematics and circuit diagrams

• Design, wire, and commission new electrical circuits in accordance with specifications

• Conduct advanced fault-finding and repairs on distribution boards, PLCs, control panels, and substations

• Perform preventive and planned maintenance on electrical and mechanical systems

• Ensure compliance with SANS 10142 wiring code and all relevant safety regulations

• Execute basic troubleshooting on PLC and SCADA control systems

• Program and fault-find on instrumentation and variable speed drives (VSDs)

• Respond to electrical and mechanical breakdowns, ensuring rapid resolution

• Perform root cause analysis and implement sustainable corrective actions

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, engineering, suppliers, and contractors

• Maintain accurate administrative records, including job cards, compliance forms, and safety reports
