Rand Water, a leading water utility in South Africa, invites previously disadvantaged and unemployed youth to apply for the 2025 Procurement Officer Learnership Programme. This structured opportunity is aimed at empowering South African youth by providing hands-on experience, theoretical knowledge, and a recognized qualification in the procurement and supply chain field.

Minimum Requirements For The Rand Water Learnership Programme For 2025

Candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria:

• Must be currently unemployed

• Not enrolled in any other learnership or qualification programme

• No post-matric qualification (Failure to disclose will result in disqualification)

• Grade 12 / Matric with Mathematics Literacy and English – Minimum Level 4 in both subjects

• Must be a South African citizen with a valid SA ID

• Age: Between 18 – 35 years, in alignment with NSDSIII

• Must attach an SAQA/NLRD verification report (available at www.saqa.org.za)

• Must provide:

  • Certified copy of ID

  • Certified Matric certificate

  • Proof of residence

  • Curriculum Vitae (CV)

Learnership Responsibilities:

As a Procurement Officer Learner, your responsibilities will include:

• Attending classroom-based training sessions

• Participating in discussions, workshops, and group activities

• Completing workplace-based projects and assignments

• Recording learning progress in a practical logbook

• Undergoing assessments and examinations

Key Learning Areas & Duties:

• Develop and manage procurement and supply schedules

• Handle supplier relationships and contract negotiations

• Monitor supply chain performance and ensure efficiency

• Apply procurement strategies to meet Rand Water’s operational goals
