Are you passionate about a technical career and eager to gain hands-on experience in a recognized trade? Our Artisan Learnership Programme is a structured, occupationally directed training program that leads to a registered qualification on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF).
This fully accredited learnership includes:
Theoretical knowledge to build a strong foundation in your chosen trade.
Practical training to develop real-world skills.
Work-based learning under the guidance of experienced artisans.
Upon completion, learners will receive a certified artisan qualification, allowing them to legally practice their trade in South Africa.
Learnerships Available
We are offering exciting learnership opportunities in the following high-demand trades:
Diesel Mechanic – Specialize in maintaining and repairing heavy-duty diesel engines used in industries such as mining, construction, and transport.
Boilermaker – Learn the skills needed to fabricate, assemble, and repair steel structures and boilers in manufacturing and industrial settings.
Millwright – Gain expertise in installing, maintaining, and repairing machinery and complex mechanical systems.
Minimum Requirements for Rio Tinto 2025 Artisan Learnership Program
To be eligible for this learnership, applicants must meet the following criteria:
Be a South African citizen and part of the targeted unemployed youth.
Have successfully completed Grade 12 with Core Mathematics and Physical Science, OR
Have a Technical Matric with trade-related theory, OR
Have Grade 12 with N3 Mathematics and N3 Engineering Science.
A valid South African Driver’s License is advantageous but not mandatory.
Must NOT be currently registered in any active learnership or apprenticeship funded by a SETA or private company.
