Key Purpose:
The SAB ARPL (Artisan Recognition of Prior Learning) Programme is a gateway for experienced individuals in technical fields to formalize their skills and qualify as artisans through a recognized trade test. Hosted at the SAB Accredited Technical Training Centre in Rosslyn, this initiative evaluates, trains, and certifies skilled candidates, enabling them to become fully qualified artisans across a variety of high-demand trades.
This programme offers a unique opportunity to fast-track your artisan certification, recognize your existing work experience, and gain a nationally accredited trade qualification in your specific field.
Minimum Entry Requirements:
To qualify for the ARPL programme, candidates must meet one of the following criteria:

N2 Certificate with relevant trade theory subjects + minimum 3 years relevant work experience

Technical trade theory programme at NQF Level 3 (SETA-accredited) + minimum 3 years experience

Relevant Engineering NCV Level 3 + 3 years experience

NCV Level 4 Engineering + completed workplace modules + 18 months experience

Technical Grade 12 (Maths, Science, and trade theory) + 3 years experience
-
Grade 9 + 4 years relevant trade experience

N6 Certificate in a relevant trade theory field + 18 months experience
-
National Technical Diploma (T, S or N stream) + 18 months experience
