Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain a safe and risk-free working environment by strictly adhering to safety policies and regulations.
- Perform maintenance and operations on various machines, ensuring safety checks are completed before maintenance tasks begin.
- Ensure efficient maintenance and repair of plant equipment and related devices, minimizing costs while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Optimize plant processes, equipment, and systems in line with South African Bureau of Standards Act 1945, particularly for Electricians/Instruments.
- Complete maintenance tasks according to AB InBev’s standard work instructions.
- Provide standby duty as per the roster, ensuring minimal disruptions.
Key Attributes & Competencies:
- Expertise in solving problems on FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) machinery.
- Strong communication skills for conveying technical knowledge to operational staff, improving their skillsets.
- Ability to train, mentor, and coach operation staff on ATO and 5S principles.
- Proficient in optimizing machine usage and reducing waste through permanent solutions.
- Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
- Capable of working independently with strong self-management.
- Problem-solving skills using basic tools such as the 5 Why method and Fishbone diagram.
- Ability to minimize machine downtime while implementing permanent solutions for issues.
- Competence in analyzing graphical data to identify gaps and improve performance.
- Proficient in identifying non-standard work and tagging defects.
- Knowledge of spare parts requirements for machinery and familiarity with the SAP system for requisitioning.
- Comfortable using electronic communication devices, including tablets and laptops.
Minimum Requirements For The SAB Artisan Leave Cover
- N3 Technical qualification or higher.
- Trade test qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Instrumentation fields.
- Experience in Packaging is advantageous.
- A summative assessment in the current role is a plus.
- At least 2 years of post-trade test experience is advantageous.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Familiarity with electronic communication devices.
