Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Technician to provide technical support in mechanical maintenance operations. This role focuses on maintaining and improving machines and equipment to enhance reliability, availability, cost-efficiency, and performance in a mining environment.
Key Responsibilities
Perform mechanical maintenance and ensure optimal operations.
Conduct preventive maintenance and take corrective actions as needed.
Support maintenance planning and preparation, monitor outcomes, and document findings (root cause, time, improvements).
Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and achieve maintenance targets.
Ensure compliance with quality and cleanliness standards.
Communicate operational status and report any deviations.
Maintain safety standards and housekeeping (5S).
Drive continuous improvements at both personal and operational levels.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
Grade 12 / N3 Technical Qualification or equivalent.
Section 13 Trade Certificate (with apprenticeship contract or portfolio of evidence).
Basic computer literacy and English proficiency.
5+ years of relevant mining experience.
5+ years of mechanized mining experience.
Experience in underground or surface mining environments.
Strong background in the maintenance of earthmoving equipment in mining or construction settings.
