Purpose of the Job:
As an Apprentice Millwright, you will receive hands-on training and development to become a qualified Millwright, in compliance with the relevant SETA (QCTO) and National Artisan Moderation Board (NAMB) standards.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
- Demonstrate competence in specific plant, mine, equipment, or systems as identified per discipline.
- Utilize and understand plant maintenance documentation systems to ensure efficient operations.
- Familiarity with work planning and management systems to optimize maintenance activities.
- Possess relevant knowledge of plant, mine, or process-specific systems and operations (as defined per discipline).
- Lead team efforts and tasks, taking charge when required to drive success.
- Assume leadership roles within the team (if aligned with career development).
- Contribute valuable insights towards shaping the maintenance strategy and overall direction.
- Conduct physical inspections (My IMS) to maintain and enhance plant sustainability.
- Collaborate effectively within a team environment to meet operational goals.
- Engage in PDAs (Process Design Assessments) and RCAs (Root Cause Analysis) to enhance plant safety and stability.
- Provide regular feedback to group leaders or planning officers regarding work progress and issues.
- Ensure accurate historical feedback is recorded to support renewals, upgrades, and replacement of critical spares.
- Actively participate in toolbox talks to help improve plant safety and operational efficiency.
Qualifications and Experience For The Sasol Artisan Learnership 2025
- Formal Education: High School Matric / N3 or equivalent qualification.
- Experience: 0-1 years of relevant experience in plant or mine maintenance.
