Available Apprenticeship Trades
Scaw Metals Group is inviting applications for training in the following trades:
Mechanical Fitting – Learn how to assemble, install, maintain, and repair industrial machinery and mechanical systems.
Electrician – Gain expertise in electrical systems, installations, wiring, and maintenance in an industrial setting.
Millwright – Train to become a multi-skilled technician specializing in both electrical and mechanical engineering for industrial machines.
Minimum Entry Requirements for the Scaw Metals Group Apprenticeship Programme 2025
To be considered for one of these prestigious apprenticeships, you must meet the following requirements:
Successfully completed Grade 12 with Mathematics & Science (Mathematical Literacy is NOT accepted), OR
Possess National Technical Certificate (NTC3) in Engineering Science & Mathematics (excluding Mathematical Literacy).
Must be a South African citizen with a valid driver’s license.
Selection and Appointment Process
Shortlisted candidates will undergo a comprehensive selection process, which includes:
Aptitude and trade-related tests
Interviews to assess suitability
Medical examination to ensure fitness for the trade
Reference checks and verification of qualifications
