As a Plumber’s Apprentice, you will work alongside experienced professionals, assisting with various plumbing tasks, maintenance, and installation work. This role provides the opportunity to learn about plumbing systems, tools, and equipment while gaining practical experience that will set you up for success in the field.
Key Responsibilities For The Smooth Systems Apprentice Program

Assist in the installation and repair of plumbing systems for residential and commercial projects.

Help with the maintenance and upkeep of water pipes, drainage systems, and fixtures.

Work alongside experienced plumbers to learn how to handle tools, equipment, and plumbing materials effectively.

Perform routine plumbing inspections and repairs under supervision.

Ensure plumbing installations are done according to local building codes and safety standards.

Provide assistance with minor plumbing jobs, including unblocking drains, repairing leaky pipes, and installing plumbing fixtures.
Requirements:

Valid Driver’s License: Must have a current driver’s license to commute to job sites.

Language Proficiency: Must be able to speak and understand both English and Afrikaans for effective communication with clients and team members.

Physical Requirements: Be reasonably fit, able to work on ladders, and access small spaces such as roof cavities.

Work Flexibility: Must be willing to work weekends and public holidays as required, based on project deadlines or emergencies.

No Previous Experience Required: However, any plumbing or similar experience will be an advantage.
