About The Opportunity

The Mvula Trust, a leading non-profit organisation focused on sustainable infrastructure development, is proud to offer Work Integrated Learning (WIL) opportunities as part of the Department of Basic Education’s SAFE Programme. This initiative forms part of our broader Human Capital Development Strategy, aimed at equipping young South Africans with essential technical and workplace skills to address the shortage of professionals in the Built Environmentsector.

We invite unemployed graduates and students in need of in-service training from Eastern Cape, Limpopo, and KwaZulu-Natal to apply for this exciting opportunity. This programme supports youth empowerment, gender equality, and disability inclusion, and encourages youth between the ages of 18 and 35 to participate.


Disciplines Available

Successful candidates will be placed in schools for a period of 6 months under the following study disciplines:

  • Civil Engineering

  • Construction Management

  • Quantity Surveying

  • Project Management

  • Occupational Health and Safety (OHS)


Minimum Requirements

  • Must be unemployed and in need of in-service training

  • Hold a relevant qualification in one of the fields listed above

  • Reside in Eastern Cape, Limpopo or KwaZulu-Natal

  • Be between 18 and 35 years old

  • Women and persons with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply

  • Must not be currently participating in another WIL or internship programme
