We are seeking a qualified and experienced Electrician to deliver electrical support services for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical infrastructure and equipment. The role plays a key part in ensuring asset reliability, process efficiency, and operational safety across the plant or mine.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance Management

Inspect, maintain, and repair electrical equipment, assets, and infrastructure to minimize downtime and ensure uninterrupted production.

Support and oversee maintenance tasks performed by support personnel.

Conduct condition monitoring, fault finding, and technical troubleshooting of equipment.

Collaborate with plant and mine personnel to identify and address maintenance and service needs.

Provide hands-on maintenance assistance during equipment breakdowns and planned shutdowns.

Carry out technical evaluations and testing of electrical systems and components.

Perform additional duties as required, at the discretion of the Supervisor.

Execute stand-by duties as per schedule.

Report and document all electrical faults and resolutions.

Adhere to and execute planned maintenance schedules.

Ensure optimal use of tools, equipment, and human resources during maintenance work.

Take responsibility for the quality of electrical installations and repairs.

Accurately complete and maintain all maintenance records, reports, and documentation.
Health, Safety & Compliance

Promote and maintain a safe and healthy working environment.

Comply with SHEC (Safety, Health, Environment and Community) standards and technical requirements.

Monitor and report any equipment defects or performance concerns.

Ensure all work aligns with ISO, SHE, and other quality management systems.
Qualifications & Experience:
Mandatory:
-
Electrician Trade Test Certification
-
Grade 12 / Standard 10 / Full N3 Certificate with Mathematics and Science

Valid Driver’s License

2–3 years’ hands-on experience in electrical maintenance within a heavy industrial, production, or mining environment
Recommended:

Basic computer literacy for logging maintenance and fault data

Knowledge of medium voltage reticulation and infrastructure electrical articulation
Advantageous:

Experience in electrical maintenance of:

Switchgear, motors, transformers

Medium Voltage (11kV) overhead lines, cables, and lighting systems
