Main Responsibilities for the Unilever Production Engineering Intern
As an intern at Unilever, you will:
Fulfill all internship requirements, including attending training sessions, completing assessments, finalizing projects, maintaining a logbook, and delivering presentations.
Utilize Unilever Manufacturing System (UMS) tools and methods to identify root causes of inefficiencies, define countermeasures, and validate their effectiveness.
Gain mastery of Autonomous Maintenance (AM), Preventive Maintenance (PM), Quality (Q), and Focused Improvement (FI) tools and processes.
Implement and sustain best practices to help production line operators maintain optimal operating conditions.
Apply Focused Improvement methodologies to reduce losses in key areas such as Safety, Quality, Cost, and Customer Service.
Use technical knowledge and a systems-based approach to optimize factory lines and workforce efficiency.
Collect, analyze, and interpret complex data to identify root causes of process inefficiencies.
Lead initiatives to eliminate waste and drive process improvements using UMS prioritization methodologies.
Support the rollout of digital transformation activities in manufacturing sites, ensuring the effective deployment of standardized technologies.
Lead and coordinate projects aimed at improving production efficiency and reducing operational costs.
Align process improvements with the site’s strategic Master Plan.
Support the implementation of the Unilever Manufacturing System (UMS) and Route to Standard (R2S) programs.
Conduct governance and gap analysis for the UMS program and assist site teams with improvement plans.
Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and site regulations regarding safety, quality, and business ethics.
Key Requirements:
To be considered for this internship, candidates must meet the following qualifications:
Education: Completed Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word is essential.
Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
