Job Description for VKB Group Electrician Assistant Job Opportunity
We are looking for an Electrician Assistant to support our skilled electricians in installation, repair, and maintenance tasks. The role involves assisting with electrical maintenance, ensuring optimal performance of equipment, and following safety and compliance protocols.
Minimum Job Requirements
Grade 12 / NQF Level 4 qualification
N2 Electrical qualification (advantageous)
At least 2 years of electrical experience in an Abattoir Maintenance Department
PLC & VSD experience and the ability to read electrical plans
Previous experience in the FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) industry is a plus
Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and overtime when required
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Assist Electricians with daily maintenance and repairs
Perform cable duties, ensuring safe and effective electrical installations
Handle breakdowns on all electrical equipment and ensure tools and equipment are available
Operate hand-held tools and machines required for electrical work
Maintain workshop cleanliness and organization
Apply and enforce ISO, HACCP, Occupational Health & Safety (OHS), and 20 Keys in the workplace
Assist in fault-finding and troubleshooting of electrical systems
Communicate effectively with maintenance managers, electricians, and production staff
Perform general electrical tasks as assigned by supervisors and management
