Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to perform maintenance and repair work on Volvo products, ensuring labor hours are efficiently completed in alignment with our company’s quality and performance standards.

Reporting Structure:
This position reports directly to the Team Leader.

Key Job Objectives:

  • Fault Diagnosis & Troubleshooting:
    Perform fault-finding and diagnosis on Volvo Products by analyzing performance issues or failures. Utilize Volvo manuals and service literature for accurate diagnosis and repair.

  • Repair & Maintenance:
    Execute maintenance and repair tasks following the guidelines in Volvo Workshop Manuals. Adhere to Volvo standards for quality and efficiency.

  • Customer Service Excellence:
    Ensure outstanding customer service by adhering to repair and maintenance instructions. Provide detailed, clear reports on diagnosis, assessment, component failures, actions taken, and recommendations.

  • Breakdown Work Procedure:
    Follow established protocols for breakdown response, including liaising with drivers, completing necessary documentation, and submitting it accurately.

  • Compliance & Safety:
    Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and safety standards at all times.

Who Are You?

Qualifications & Experience for the Volvo Group Diesel Technician Job Opportunity

  • Matric/N3 or equivalent qualification.

  • Trade Test Certificate – Qualified Diesel Mechanic.

  • Minimum 3 years of dealership experience in the maintenance and repair of heavy commercial vehicles.

Key Competencies:

  • Strong ability to interpret and utilize technical manuals, specifications, and measuring equipment.

  • Extensive knowledge and practical experience in performing accurate and efficient repair work.

  • Proficient in English (reading, writing, and speaking).

  • Computer literacy and familiarity with relevant software tools.
