Motus Daimler Trucks Rustenburg is currently offering an exciting opportunity for a Level 1 Apprentice (Year 1) to join its Service Department. This apprenticeship is ideal for candidates looking to build a long-term career in truck and bus mechanics, working under industry-leading dealer and distributor standards.

Job Purpose

Reporting to the Service Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with the diagnosis, servicing, and repair of trucks and buses, ensuring all work is carried out efficiently, safely, and in accordance with Daimler and DCSA standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform fault diagnosis to assist and speed up vehicle servicing

• Use modern diagnostic equipment during vehicle examinations

• Ensure all DCSA procedures and policies are followed and documented

• Accurately diagnose faults and ensure customer satisfaction

• Liaise with Service Advisors and provide clear technical explanations

• Maintain vehicle care, safety, and cleanliness at all times

• Attend to breakdown calls when required

• Ensure vehicles are returned to customers in a neat and clean condition

• Sign for parts at the Parts Department and return unused parts accordingly

• Ensure repairs are cost-effective, accurate, and efficient

• Complete job cards, reports, and service documentation accurately and on time

• Attend training courses provided by Daimler and Cargo Motors

• Maintain a clean and tidy work area and overalls

• Assist with promotional campaigns and other reasonable duties as required

Specific Role Responsibilities

• Provide a technical and diagnostic service within the service department

• Maximise the use of advanced diagnostic equipment and interpret results correctly

• Discuss service and repair details with customers when required

• Assist with servicing of electrical and electronic vehicle systems

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications For Daimler Trucks 2026 Apprentice Programme

• Grade 12 with Mathematics and Physical Science

• N2 Certificate including:

  • Engineering Science

  • Technical Drawing

  • Mathematics

  • Motor Trade Theory

• Valid Driver’s License (advantageous)
