Eskom is inviting suitably qualified candidates to apply for two (2) Artisan Fitting Turbine Maintenance positions at Duvha Power Station in Mpumalanga. This opportunity is ideal for skilled artisans who are looking to build a long-term career within one of South Africa’s most critical and technically advanced industries.
The primary purpose of this role is to ensure the effective maintenance, repair, and reliability of mechanical equipment within the turbine maintenance division. The successful candidates will play a key role in supporting plant operations by ensuring that all systems operate efficiently, safely, and in accordance with established engineering and safety standards.
This position requires individuals who are technically competent, disciplined, safety-conscious, and capable of working in a demanding industrial environment where precision and reliability are essential.
The successful candidates will be responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance and operational duties within the turbine maintenance environment. These include both preventative and corrective maintenance activities aimed at ensuring the continuous and efficient functioning of plant equipment.
You will be expected to carry out routine inspections, identify potential faults, and perform necessary repairs in line with Eskom’s maintenance procedures and safety regulations. This includes working with mechanical systems, turbines, and associated equipment to maintain optimal performance levels.
In addition to hands-on maintenance work, you will be required to participate in scheduled maintenance programs, attend operational and safety meetings, and contribute to planning and coordination within the maintenance team. Maintaining proper care of tools, equipment, and workspaces will also form an important part of your responsibilities.
A strong emphasis is placed on safety, and all tasks must be performed in strict compliance with plant safety regulations and standards. You will also be responsible for ensuring your own safety as well as that of your colleagues while carrying out your duties.

In terms of leadership and teamwork, you should be able to work effectively within a team environment while also contributing positively through motivation, support, and mentorship. The ability to guide and assist less experienced team members will be advantageous.
Candidates should have a basic understanding of plant safety regulations and demonstrate awareness of safety practices within an industrial or power generation environment.
Strong communication skills are required, along with computer literacy and the ability to handle administrative aspects related to maintenance work. Supervisory capabilities and the ability to coordinate tasks efficiently will further strengthen your application.
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:
Applicants must have a completed Trade Test qualification relevant to the role. In addition, candidates should have successfully completed the required practical training associated with their trade.
A valid driver’s license is required, and candidates must be capable of being authorised as a Responsible Person in terms of plant safety regulations.
This role is based at Duvha Power Station, a high-performance operational environment where reliability, safety, and efficiency are critical. Candidates must be comfortable working in an industrial setting that may involve physically demanding tasks, strict safety procedures, and adherence to operational schedules.
You will be expected to maintain high standards of workmanship, follow all safety protocols, and contribute to the overall performance of the maintenance team. The role may also require flexibility in terms of working hours depending on operational needs.
