Valterra Platinum is seeking motivated and safety-conscious individuals to join our Engineering team as Engineering Assistants. This role provides hands-on exposure to engineering operations and supports artisans across various technical activities.
Maintain high standards of housekeeping in all work areas
Control materials, workshop machinery and equipment
Correct and safe use of engineering tools
Assist with loading, dispatching and transporting materials and equipment to work sites
Provide support to Artisans across all engineering disciplines
Ensure tools are available, properly handled and returned after use
Follow work instructions accurately and efficiently
Ensure clear understanding of required tasks and expected outcomes
Apply recognized work and safety standards at all times
Promote teamwork and assist in task completion
Maintain required quality standards during task execution
Prevent unnecessary material wastage
Communicate unexpected issues or delays to Artisans
Maintain effective two-way communication with team members
Support operational teams in maintaining equipment
Accompany artisans during inspections and task completion
Encourage safety awareness and identify unsafe work practices
Report any safety concerns to the Artisan or Safety Representative
Grade 12 / Matric with Mathematics and Physical Science
Ability to communicate effectively in English
No prior experience required
Candidates with previous 18.2 Learnership experience will be given preference
