X7 Eskom Engineering Learnership Programme 2026

South Africa’s energy sector continues to play a crucial role in developing young talent through structured workplace learning programmes. For unemployed youth, gaining their first professional work experience can be the biggest challenge when entering the job market. The Youth Employment Service (YES) initiative was established to address this challenge by partnering with leading employers to provide meaningful workplace opportunities that equip young South Africans with practical skills, professional exposure and improved employability.

Eskom is inviting applications for its X7 Engineering Learnership Programme 2026 under the Youth Employment Service (YES) initiative. Successful candidates will receive a 12-month workplace experience contract within Generation PTM Engineering, gaining valuable exposure to South Africa’s electricity generation industry while working at PTM sites in Witbank or Koeberg Power Station.

About Eskom

Eskom is South Africa’s primary electricity utility and one of the largest power producers on the African continent. The organisation operates a diverse fleet of power stations, transmission infrastructure and engineering facilities that support the country’s energy security.

Through graduate programmes, apprenticeships, learnerships and the YES Initiative, Eskom continues to invest in developing future engineering professionals while creating employment opportunities for young South Africans.
