About the Imerys Electrical Learnership Programme
The Imerys Electrical Learnership Programme aims to provide experiential learning and formal training for individuals pursuing careers in Electrical Engineering and Fitter trades.
Training is conducted in partnership with the Colliery Training College, a Mining Qualifications Authority (MQA) accredited institution. Learners will receive both classroom-based theoretical instruction and practical workplace training at the mine and processing plant.

Key Responsibilities For Imerys Electrical Learnership Programme 2026
Learners selected for the programme will be expected to:

- Ensure proper documentation is completed accurately
- Assist supervisors and line managers with operational tasks
- Compile daily, weekly, and monthly reports when required
- Participate fully in all training activities

Alternative Qualification Requirements
Applicants may also qualify through one of the following:
N2 Qualification
- Minimum N2 with four trade-related subjects
- Relevant subjects may include:
- Engineering Science
- Engineering Drawing
- Fitting and Machining Theory
- Other engineering-related subjects
NC(V) Qualification
- National Certificate Vocational Level 3
- Minimum 40% in Mathematics (Mathematics Literacy will not be accepted)
- Relevant engineering trade subjects such as Electrical Engineering Theory
Additional Requirements
Candidates must also:
- Be medically fit in accordance with Mine Health and Safety Act requirements
- Successfully complete Mine Health and Safety Induction training
- Be self-motivated and willing to learn
- Demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills

Training Through Colliery Training College
Theoretical training will be conducted through the Colliery Training College, one of South Africa’s recognised mining industry training institutions accredited by the Mining Qualifications Authority (MQA).
